Ashley and Noah contacted me just a few weeks before their planned elopement date. They described their love for the coast and their desire to have their wedding day be completely carefree, with just two guests. I assured them we had plenty of time to make this happen, and we had two planning calls to bring everything together quickly! It just goes to show you that you really need very little to have a beautiful, elegant coastal elopement, especially if you have very few guests.

We were planning their day in the beginning of the rainy season here in Oregon, but as Oregonians themselves, Ashley and Noah weren’t afraid of the chance of rain.

Despite the forecast showing heavy rain all week, we lucked out with a clear (but moody) morning and the most perfect timing for our plan.

Early Morning Getting Ready

I met Ashley and Noah at their cute Airbnb in Manzanita, just south of Cannon Beach. The big bay windows and thoughtful details in the space were perfect to capture the dreamy and easy going atmosphere of a coastal stay.

I took some time to lay out the couple’s rings and vow books. Ashley’s dress was one of my favorite’s I’ve ever photographed- and the off the shoulder bishop sleeves were stunning. I’m always excited about a veil to play with for photos, and the pieces came together perfectly!

With the bride’s sister helping her get dressed we had lots of time to chat, laugh, and get some cute candid photos together.

First Look and Writing Vows

Right before we left for the day, the couple shared a first look to show each other their wedding clothes for the first time! We also took some time for the couple to write down their vows together. I love these looks across the table!

Forest Photos in Oswald West State Park

While the guests tasked with a coffee and bagel run, the couple and I stopped at one of my favorite hiking trails in the area for some quick photos in the forest. It’s so nice to add variety to the landscapes we visit during the day and you can’t have a trip to the coast without getting some lush ferns and brilliant green trees in the mix.

Ceremony

Next was ceremony time at Hug Point and our last stop for the day! It was still pretty early in the morning and the sun was just peaking over the hills to the East. The sunbeams spearing down through the ocean mist stopped us in our tracks! We knew exactly where the perfect place for the ceremony would be!

Couple's Photos

After these two were officially married, we ran down the beach to do some quick couple’s photos among the waves and rocks. It’s not a trip to the coast without getting your feet wet!

Celebration

Lastly, celebrating as a group with coffee, a toast, and just enjoying each other’s company! What a perfect, simple, joyful, and GORGEOUS day on the BEST COAST!
